Electrodialysis membrane reactor

1.ED membrane
Theory:
ED membrane reactor uses anion and cation exchange membrane arranged alternately between positive and negative electrodes and separated by a special separator to form two systems of desalination and concentration. When brine is supplied to the compartment, the cation migrates to the cathode under the action of the dc electric field and can only pass through the cation exchange membrane. The anions migrate to the anode and can only pass through the anion exchange membrane, thus desalting the brine in the light chamber and concentrating the brine in the thick chamber.

Application:
Mainly used for material desalting or salt concentration.

2.EDR membrane reactor

Theory:
EDR is called frequent inverted electrodialysis. The theory of EDR is basically the same as that of ED. The main reason is the scaling problem of ED technology, which leads to its limitations. EDR reverses the polarity of the positive and negative electrodes at regular intervals, and the concentrated water compartment and fresh water compartment change accordingly to minimize film scaling and deposition of colloidal substances on the film surface. Destroy newly formed deposits and wash them off before they become hazardous to the film. Automatic cleaning of dirt formed on ion-exchange membrane and electrode surface to ensure long-term stable operation of EDR system.

Application:
Mainly used for desalting brackish water.
