Bipolar membrane electrodialysis reactor

1.1  2-cell BPED
Theory:
Bipolar membrane is a new type of ion exchange composite membrane, which is usually composed of cation exchange layer, interfacial hydrophilic layer and anion exchange layer. Under the action of direct current electric field, the bipolar membrane can be hydrolyzed away, and H+ and OH- can be obtained on both sides of the membrane. Based on this characteristic, bipolar membrane and anion exchange membrane were combined into A two-compartment BPED system (2CBPED-A). The bipolar membrane and cation exchange membrane were combined into a two-compartment BPED system (2CBPED-C).

Application
(1) 2CBPED-A is mainly used to improve the pH of materials and the production of organic alkali;
(2) 2CBPED-C is mainly used to reduce the pH of materials and the production of organic acids;

1.2  3-cell BPED
Theory:
3-Cell BPED is a bipolar membrane electrodialysis system composed of bipolar membrane and anion exchange membrane. It can convert salt in aqueous solution to corresponding acid and base without introducing new component.

Application:
 It is mainly used to split a salt into its corresponding acid and base. For example, NaCl was divided into NaOH and HCl. Na2SO4 is divided into NaOH and H2SO4.
